So FOUR days till my shoot

An Ode to my retired Monroe piercing:

I miss my Monroe so bad tonight I feel like driving an earring through the closed up hole myself just to have it back. It's a sort of lonely feeling like I had when it was first retired for work; like I had lost a piece of myself (I'm sure many of you can relate).

It was a piercing that wasn't cliche or taken over by the media muses. It was rarely seen but seen even so often to make people do a double-take it was a piercing that was hard to pull off...that took just the right sort of face...my face. It was girly in a other-side-of-the-spectrum way, sophisticated, unique, and quirky....it was mine.

I almost cried the morning after I first got it pierced...not with saddness but with happiness...for it was mine...all mine. It was something nobody I knew had...it was me in every way...it my mine...my monroe.
