I saw David Byrne lecture on how he loves PowerPoint. The funny thing was how excited he was by all of the iconography. It was like he just discovered remote control TV.

The most interesting thing he said was about the changing nature of communications. Business needs force people to sublimate their native cultures for corporate cultures. People aren't free to express their own cultures...

I forgot to wear a jacket when I flew to Detroit. Of all thing things to forget ...

The whole concept of high speed travel is starting to amaze me. I like falling asleep somewhere and waking a couple of thousand miles away.

It's always unusual to wake up to the sound of cats coughing up strange things.

I work in a building over looking Lake Michigan. The thing I notice most about the weather is how it effects the color of the lake. Some days it looks like the Caribbean and some days you can't see where the sky ends and the water begins. Some days, like today, it's just all grey. Strange.

I guess you are right about the Romero movie. It's been a while since I've seen any of his work. Maybe I'll rent one of his movies and one of the Evil Dead movies this weekend for a thrill.

I'm off to Michigan tonight for a friend's birthday party. It's really cold out there. It will be nice to spend the weekend with friends, but they could have picked a warmer time of year to have a birthday party.

I did my laundry at a laundromat this evening. I hate doing laundry. Going to the laundromat late in the evening allowed me to hog all of the washers and dryers I needed without having to compete with the mothers who have mountains of children's clothes.

The downstair's neighbor's dog woke me up yapping out of control -- as usual. I love animals, but I hate that dog.
