I'm dealing with the final week of school I may ever experience. All my finals and projects are due on Monday, so this weekend is going to pass slowly, and with little sleep. Good luck to everyone else who's about to enter finals week!
I think I've officially caught up on all the sleep I missed out on during Coachella. It took lots of hard work and laying around the house, but I did it!
Anyway, my final radio show - EVER! - will be this Wednesday. You can listen at KCSC; it's from 6-8 Western time and I play a variety of indie rock, new wave, punk,...

Cautiously optimistic, as you say, is a great way to describe my feelings on the change brought by moving to SF. Much of the problems are on my end, rooted in my behavior and lack of socializing. It, however, is always somewhat comforting to hear from someone who is at least somewhat on the same page.
The show has decided to come in this week. So at least I managed to catch one even if it is your last
. 25 minutes into it I can safely say youve got damn good tasteand now Jenny Lewiss voice popped on
(and now the Electedthumbs up!
)
ps I will definitely try to check out that Peeking Chinese. thanks.
pss What was the synth pop-esque group towards the first half? The mic cut out but it sounded like Spit we are eyes, we are buildings ? Am I way off?

Your last show closing statement about the "one of the few good memories about Chico" did not fall on deaf ears
.
Wow. I have had one hell of a weekend! Of course it dealt with my attending the indie/hipster clusterfuck that is Coachella.
I can't even begin to talk about everything that happened, so I'll just sum it all up. It started Thursday night when my friends and I saw the Pixies in Davis (yes, I was one of the lucky bastards who got a ticket)....

so much amazing music. i'm impressed you made it in time for the pretty girls show. i really wanted to see them and !!!, but we just couldn't drag ourselves there in time. glad you were turned on to muse there. they're one of my faves. i couldn't believe how bad the beck show was. total clusterfuck. he was a last minute addition, so the only thing i figure is that they had to throw him in the tent (the smallest one, no less) because they couldn't displace one of the other bands. and i was hoping that the flaming lips would be his back-up band. oh well.
unravled:
Ohhh, I'm jealous of the music. But I can't stand that crowd and that heat.
So a few days ago my car started acting up. Actually, "acting up" is the exact opposite of what happened... it just wouldn't start. Definitely not something that I wanted to deal with a week before I would be driving 12 hours to get to Coachella. I found that occasionally if I vigorously twisted the key, I could get the car started. But the problem...

I tested it last night and the radio station fired right up. Now after 20 minutes of trying it can't seem to connect. God Damn Chico, always screwing with me and ruining my life...

which sets do you plan on seeing at coachella? i think that all the conflicting set times would be a serious bitch, and a reason for me not to drag my ass out to cali
So I'm sitting here in the radio station I DJ at (if you want to listen, visit KCSC; I'm on from 6-8 wednesdays and play good stuff..) and I figured that I'd update this thing since I haven't been online for several days.

the rambling is likely due to the decreased blood flow to your brain resulting from the aforementioned excitement.

bah, curses
I've been pretty busy these past few days. On Tuesday night, I saw Tiger Army and The Business play downtown. It was about the 7th or 8th time I've seen Tiger Army, and it was definietly one of their better shows, although they didn't play In the Orchard or Moonlight Dreams, two of my favorite songs. Meh, oh well.

International Noise Conspiracy...you lucky bastard. I feel like an idiot because I never even pay attention to what is going on in Sacramento even though it is the closest place to see a show
oh well.
And thanks for the Chico hate backup. Yeah, I get to spend two full weekends in May cleaning up the streets in that fair town of yours. If you see a group picking up trash on the 2nd and/or 3rd weekend come stop by and say hello

Have you ever had the feeling that you missed out on something as a child? That's how I felt last week when my friend told me that The Princess Bride, my favorite movie as a kid (and still one of my favorites now) was based on a book. Why the hell was I not informed of this when I was younger? I mean, I watched...

I wouldn't say "cynical"...more "over analytical".
One of my teachers read that book to us in class when I was little. I guess I just took it for granted while I was "over analyzing" how pointless I thought having to go to school was.

This just made my day: so my friend just called me about moving to San Francisco, something that we have been discussing up until now with cautious enthusiasm. Her sister has found a house in the Sunset district that costs a mere $520 a month per room... $5 less than I'm paying right now! So it may be foggy all year, and it may be...

That price is amazing
The best I've seen for the Sunset so far is sharing a one bedroom with a friend where we each pay around $500. To have your own room for $20 more...dang! If there is another room in that house that needs fillin'...hey
.

It's been a while since I've update this thing, so I figure I may as well right now. I'm at the radio station right now covering for a friend's show for the next few minutes. I just found out that I have the day off from school tomorrow (thank you very much for being born, Cesar Chavez!), so now I'm considering going to the city...

well now you know that it's not a joke. it is a very serious affliction affecting tens of lives every year. we should not laugh at this poor guy's pain as tiny crustaceans traverse his testicles and itch the hell out of him.
fuck that, the punk got what he deserved. i guess i'm just as harsh as the SGs.
i just wonder about the dirty skank who gave it to him.
is it possible to have crabs and not know it? maybe before the little fuckers hatch or something?

This has.. uh... art stuff.
So my radio show is starting up again this semester. This wll be my fourth and final semester as a DJ. It's good fun, I think, at least for me. It's on Wednesdays from 6-8 PM western time. I play everything from indie rock to new wave to trip hop to instrumental rock to electro to punk; I try to get a very wide variety....

Oh good, I'm glad we were on the same page. No I don't go to school there, I was just visiting a couple friends (do you know Sarah Aiken or Christy Stevens?) over their spring break. Funny thing is that now I get to go back there on my spring break for court because I got a drunk in public for being passed out in the back of my friends car. I never manage to leave that quaint little town without wishing I never left my home. My hats off to your for living there.
ps I'll check out the show this wednesday. It definitly sounds cool.
