my front lawn is basically a flowergarden. i didn't put it there. it was the people who owned the house before i started renting the downstairs apartment. i felt bad, though, because without any care for the last couple months, it's really started to die off. so the other day while i was at home depot, i got a sprinkler and a hose and began to try to make up for the neglect. i really want it to look nice there, because i've lived in some houses that had beautiful landscaping that was well cared for, and i've lived in some shitholes with dead weeds in the fron and rotting trees in the back, and i know that having a nice place feels better.

i think it would be really cool to have some strange exotic plants there, so that it looks like another planet, or a dr. suess book.

i guess none of it matters. i leave for germany next sunday, so anything i tried to plant or prune or trim or anything would just go completely to hell by the time i got back at the end of august. today i bought a timer, so that the front will be watered automatically while i'm gone.

there's a lot of other things that i wish would be automatically cared for while i'm away. oh, well.
