I'm alive!! Sometimes I have to disappear for sanity's sake. Especially after a summer.

So here is what I did: I took the last week off before school, and we drove to California in a Westfalia to get hopelessly lost. Down the coast we went, and when the Coast was Lost, we had the most fun.

What I liked best: The King's Range, the town of Honeydew, Crescent City, The Lava Beds National Monument, Crater Lake, and Mt. St. Helens. They love BC'ers in the hidden ranchlands.... It's like we share a common, um, way of life.

Ever Swum in Crater lake? It's so so blue. Ever been naughty in there? Um, no. Me neither. The Lava beds were fun too. We spent the whole day popping up and down through the sagebrush like gophers, and playing in the caves.

So now I'm blonde and brown. I'll go back to pasty-nerd-colour in no time though. I'm a protein-purifying maniac.

I drove to Yakima for a barbecue last weekend. I mean, why not? The weekend before was a party on a farm. The tequila was flowing, and all was well, until SOMEONE got a little drunk, and got into the sheep.

I'm working my heart in preparation for a Thanksgiving climb. Anyone have mountain boots? Mine are wrecked.

Then, of course, we have October party season. I'm trying to pull together Priss from Blade Runner for Hallowe'en. And the Ball of course. I'm getting my pasties and chaps figured out. They are standard dress.

I have nerdy things to do right now... Kick ass.
