So I feel like a bit of a dick. It's not been a terrible day, but yeah. Pretty bad one.
Left the house at 8am for work, as one does, with the 'rents. Got to work at 10.45am. Go figure.
The traffic on the local motorway was a bombsite. Took us an hour and 45 mins to get from my house to Braehead (a shopping centre that is usually 20 mins drive away). Crazy. We stopped there to get a cup of tea and to wait out the worst. Later got to work at the time mentioned.
Nightmare. Worst I've ever seen it. Luckily my manager was more than understanding.
Work itself was fine. Nothing to complain about really. Until...
I put petrol in a vehicle my mum has borrowed from work, which is a diesel. My mum needed the car to drive to a Training session she has organised, and instead of using her car, her office gave her this one. Well, she asked me to fill it up, after telling me it was diesel, while she went in to pay. Typically, out of instinct, I pick up the green nozzle (diesel being black), and start filling up, only to look down and see a little diesel sticker on the fuel cap.
Shit...
I've already put 25 quid worth in. As some of you know, starting a car with the wrong fuel inside can write the car off.
So after a good hours wait, the RAC guy arrived, towed the car home and organised someone to pick it up in the morning. So my mum is using my car tomorrow, I need to stay home so someone is at home for the car to get picked up.
So leaving the office at 5pm I get home at 7.30pm. Blah. What's worse is I might need to cover the costs. I dunno. I got a bollocking off my mum too, but she's later apologised for over reacting and shouting at me.
What a day. Makes me want to crawl into bed and fall asleep for a couple of days.
