I always seem to find out about the long weekends the friday of. I don't know why... but I guess this is the first job in many years where I actually get them all off.
Speaking of which, the job bodes well. I really fit in to the little culture we have there. My boss always looks to me for advice which is good.. and take me seriously. It's refreshing to be around people who give a shit.
And speaking of giving a shit -- New Orleans. I am sad to see it happen. While it spurs my conviction to be a better person and to continue to help people in the ways that I can (no matter how meager they may be right now)...
I have lost some serious faith in humanity this past week.
In the middle of a serious disaster and the first thing so many people can think about is stealing shit they don't need and rustlin up people they don't know... and all the politics.
I really felt for the mayor in his radio interview. I still think he's as dumb as many American politicians are -- but he was right on this one.
