Okay, so obviously life isn't all that bad. At least my job has perks --
2 days in a row I've been able to drink and eat for free!
Thursday evening was a product launch for Heineken's new "aluminum bottle" -- a glorified can really. However, even though the H beer is pretty nasty, free made it taste pretty good.
The evening itself was alright -- though the party was obviously so totally full of people I'd never actually talk to in a social situation. Like -- the music, the scene... just not my thing. So when I say awkward -- I mean awkward.
Tonight I got to see the pre-launch showing of The Blue Man group show here in Toronto. Talk about amazing! My favorite bit was this thing about animation they did that bled into the "Internet Cafe" scene. Where people go to sit down silently in a room with other people they won't communicate with. Only to talk to people around the world that they cannot see. Isolating at one point -- but this very innovative custume/laser light bit made the "animations" break out of their two dimensional world for a neat little coreographed bit.
A lot of audience interaction and neat things... I've never seen anything like it. Never been a part of anything like it. Blue Man Group was a very exhilierating experience. I highly reccommend everyone to go see it. Especially since a lot of what they make is donated to AIDS research.
So yeah.. after the Blue Man show -- the Blue Man after-party which included more free drinks and food. Satay chicken, rum and coke... I was in heaven. Though loud and that same "not feeling it" scene there. This time however, I knew more than one person in the joint so it wasn't too big of a deal. Still managed to have some fun despite the incredible volume levels.
Anyway... that's all from the space captain for now. Back to my search for major tom and the spiders from mars.
Peace.
