I love being on Christmas break. I get to sleep as much as I want and I get to see my beloved parents.

It is tough having parents that were getting into middle age when they had you. I used to hate seeing life insurance commericals on television when I was a child, because they always reminded me that my parents may not live to see me become an adult.

I'm happy I am spending time with them. Some of my friends down in California say I always seem to be in better spirits when I return from a trip to Washington.

To that I say: wouldn't you feel better if you went to a place where there are a good number of people who will love you no matter what you've done?

I'm a very lucky man. I have six very close friends who were there to pick me up last year when the walls closed in on me, and I have an amazingly supportive and caring family.

I am indeed rich.
