wow, I guess I haven't been on in awhile...just been looking over M's shoulder, checking up on people, feeling, as usual, that everyone is having more fun than me. I know it's been awhile since I was on as me because I had 4 count em four friend requests...one from a cool guy I met at Cat's partay...the other three of course from stupidrandombuytypes who don't actually bother to, you know, say hi. (hello out there.......????)
Anyway, FYI because for some reason I feel like I've been deceptive, I'm going to grad school not for painting or art but for English lit. Not that I ever said orimplied anything to the contrary...I guess it's just that my most visible "thing" is the painting so people have assumed that that's what I'm all about. But I decided, late one night and high on my quarterlife crisis, that my chances of making a living as an academic are (just) slightly higher than those of making it as an artist. And of course I will still paint...but really, do you need to go to school to "learn" to paint? I think not. Really, you don't need to go to school to learn to read, or to know, or to criticize, either, but the hiring types do like to see those shiny degrees.
