To answer your question of allowed...
As long as your drip, drip- drops persistent and pours aggravated from steamy valve opening soup vapors onto your sleeve, then you should be thankful that another person of pure health would risk the precious seconds of sharing air to hand you anything, let alone something as generous as crackers to plunge into staleness after a soggy soup bath.
A complaint is never shined upon even when the mind is weighed so heavily with snot and nausea that it thinks it deserves to be lifted and helped by others. You are poison right now and should remain bottled away in your room so that no one will have to drink of your foulness.
PS - don't share drinks, and never spoons or forks with others, and the penis & vaginas have been known to carry germs as well. Be careful out there.
