Well, it appears I am still alive. I am still feeling very ill due to some new medications, but all in all I guess it could be worse. All these new medications started due to the result of a trip to the Emergency Room a couple of weeks ago. I awoke earlier that morning and could not put any weight on my left foot. It kept giving out every time I put any kind of pressure on it. Instinctively, I automatically thought it was broken.

Those of you who have been subscribed to me since last summer are aware that this same scenario played out then. Except last time, it was my right foot. I walked on it for over a week before I went to the doctor. When I finally did, they had to run numerous tests and I was given multiple diagnoses ranging from Charcot's Syndrome to bone cancer. However, finally after a bone scan they realized that my ankle was simply broken in several places. So I was ultimately put in a cast for the entire summer. To make matters worse, somehow my gimp ass (and I mean that in the most humorous fashion possible) managed to break my foot while the ankle was in its protective cast.

So now that the left foot was acting in same way, I or Pezmaster did not want to take any chances. We spent over 8 hours at the hospital. I had a CT scan and numerous blood tests ran. Ultimately, they determined two things that need further investigation. One, my blood work showed that I had a positive Rheumatoid factor, which basically means I have a painful form of arthritis that will require further treatment. Secondly, the CT scan showed that the Achilles tendon on my left foot is abnormally thick. I believe the thickness of the tendon is scar tissue due to the numerous surgeries I had as a child for treatment for Cerebral Palsy. The Emergency Room doctor was not so sure why it was like due to orthopedics not being his specialty so he suggested I follow up with an orthopedist.

The next day I found a orthopedist close to where I live. I was informed that he would take a look at the tendon, but as far as the arthritis was concerned he believed that he would ultimately have to refer me to a Rheumatologist. Also, he was uncertain as to whether he could fix the tendon. He had to see me first. All this uncertainty does not make me feel very comfortable with the doctor, but I am going to go to the appointment just to see what happens. It is scheduled for Monday. I will be sure to keep all of you updated.

In other news, today has been a very tiring, yet productive day so far. I have managed to schedule several doctors appointments for Pezmaster's little boy Brandon. He is due for an eye exam. One of his eyes turns inward so he has to wear corrective glasses. Now that he is four, we are hoping that maybe they can eliminate the glasses altogether or do some corrective surgery on the weakened eye muscle. It is such a hassle trying to get a four year old to wear glasses or especially keep them clean. Luckily, right now we have attached what they call a "nerd strap" to the back of them and this prevents him from completely taking them on and off. However, there is no way to stop him from putting his fingers all over the lenses until it is impossible for anything to be seen out of them. In addition to the eye appointment, we also got the referral for him to see a surgeon over the hernia he was born with. Why it took the doctor's so long to get this referral I will never know, but hopefully they will be able to correct it without the little guy suffering too much. I think however, even with the hernia repaired he is going to be left with his outie belly button. Between Brandon and I, the next several weeks is doctors, doctors, doctors.

On a brighter note, Pezmaster and I got tickets to take Brandon to the circus in May as a birthday gift. As if he did not get enough already! eeek We think he will enjoy it and they are even opportunities for the children to feed and touch some of the animals before and after the show. Pezmaster and I have not been to a circus since we were very young. So young that we really do not remember it. We are not quite sure if we are excited about it or not. All I can remember from my experience as a child was how bad it smelled. I hope Brandon doesn't focus on that too much.

Oh and yeah, I updated my wish list. I just like picking things out really. I NEVER buy anything for myself. I would rather give someone else something. Nonetheless, it was fun picking out some of the things I wouldn't mind have at some point in the near future.

My Wish List

I hope everyone in SG is having a wonderful day. I have managed to read and comment on most of your blogs, but I still have a lot of catching up to do since I have been inactive from the site for six months. I will get to all of you eventually, I promise! smile

Much Love,

You are truly one of the kindest people I have met. I appreciate your words on my blog, and I hope things go ok with your foot, and the boy's eyes. Send me a mesage sometime. Love to hear from you babe.

Thank you sweetheart for your kind words and encouragement! I will write a longer message this weekend and fill you in on more "stuff." I love making friends here and consider SG my artistic home, a place where I can really express myself. I feel for you on the diabetes issue and would like to talk more about that...and will. Right now I have to get to some mundane chores...I'd rather spend more time on here, but duty calls. So, until later, take care and stay safe. xoxoxoxo ...and thank you again.
