*Update*-I wanted to give a personal thanks to all of you who have sent congratulations my way over my book publishing. I really do feel the love on this site! 
I really do appreciate it. This was one of my dreams so I am so stroked to have achieved it. Now, my next adventure is to finally complete the process of becoming a SG. I have yet to do my set to become a hopeful. I am having difficulty coming up with a theme. In time. It will happen. I am learning that everything in life takes hard work and determination, but it is worth it in the end. Even if I am not rich or famous, at least I know I have done what I have set out in my life to do. So with that said, I am happy!

yeah, nothing wrong with academic books....i'm "an academic". but, sometimes the conventions of the "genre" are limiting. anyhoo, the book is about the early 20th C avant-garde and the politics of kitsch....something that would also seem to require in my view some treatment outside the academic conventions since by it's nature is itself seeking to subvert or undermine similar sort of institutional assumptions. blah blah blah.
prolly a year from publication and who knows maybe i'll turn it into a graphic novel after that.
