It was the summer of 1976 in Los Angeles and the Ramones were playing second bill to the Flamin' Groovies at the Roxy. Across the pond, the Sex Pistols were still months away from achieving everlasting infamy by calling their host a "fucking rotter" while live on British TV. In a Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot off Third Street in L.A.s Fairfax District, an 11-year-old...

Great interview, have read Slash's other book, will definitely be reading this one too.
Marc Canter still seems like a fan who is crazy about the band and that will come through the pages of his book.
I grew up on this band and have never liked any other band better. Obviously Slash is the baddest black guitarist in the world now that Jimi is no more, and I think his soulful tones are second to none on his Les Paul's sounding out through Marshall signature melodies.
Thanks for adding the vids too, that really brought it to life

I definitely got curious about this guy's band by reading this interview and discovered some pretty nice tunes. Thanks for bringing them to our attention

Real nice interview, thanks Erin... Definitely the type of music that doesn't have to be about big hits or big corporate records and if there is a will there is a way to keep at it and make it happen...

When Carter Smith set out to direct upcoming horror adaptation The Ruins, the fashion-photographer turned filmmaker had no doubt about his ability to tackle such intense subject matter. "The fashion photography was a great training ground, if you will, just for image making," Smith told SuicideGirls. "A lot of my photography looks like movie stills... So Im coming from a place where Im used to...

Sounds very cool. Nice interview.
Erin Broadley: Happy Valentines Day, man. Or crappy Valentines Day, as it is for some people, you never know. [Laughs]
Carter Smith: I know, right? You too. Im sort of in the middle on this one this year. [Laughs]
EB: I figure talking about a nice, bloody horror movie is a good way to kick off the celebration.
CS: Yes. Blood...

Donita Sparks is no stranger to breaking the rules. The razor sharp singer and guitarist championed the bad girl, rocker persona during her stay as frontwoman for L7 in the '80s and '90s -- breaking hearts and, undoubtedly, a few laws along the way. Today, with her L7 days behind her and on the release...

Most of us can relate to feeling different on some level. In his feature directorial debut, Mark Palansky explores that experience through the eyes of Penelope, a girl cursed with a pig snout. A modern day fairy tale with a timeless message, the film follows Penelope's (Christina Ricci) journey toward...
Don't expect to see George Romero in line for the next sequel to 28 Days Later. As the legendary horror director told SuicideGirls when we sat down with him last week, he's just too old-school to get excited by this new generation of running, jumping zombies who look like they "just came from the gym." It's that touching dedication to a bygone era of brain-eating...

Hah! always wondered how the classic zombie evolved into the ultra-fit zombies of most modern films..
Grrr, I hate "fast zombies." Not zombies in my nerdy, purist opinion. Zombies are dead; they shuffle.

Despite their name, The Whitest Kids U'Know are still getting used to the idea that, in fact, people really do know them. They've already scored millions of views on YouTube and produced one season of hilarious sketch comedy on Fuse Network, but they've never had the kind of exposure they're getting...
