I took down my wishlist link, Amazon has caused me more stress and frustration over that damn thing than anything else. One of their merchants shipped something to me from my wishlist under the billing address name. It wasn't for anyone in our house, so we didn't sign for it. Come to find out it was for me, after all. After hours on the phone dealing with amazon (who don't seem to understand how I might not know who ordered the gift) I get the phone number for a merchant, who is stunned to find out that I might get a present from someone that I don't know. After explaining how that works a couple times ("yeah, you can make your wishlist available on the internet, and your internet friends who you might not really know first hand can buy something off it if they think you need a little cheering up, or whatever") he finally figured out what happened and let me know that there was no way in hell I was going to get what had been purchased unless I basically asked that person to buy it for me again.

Yeah, sure. whatever. Like hell.

Something else was ordered off my wishlist a long time ago and it never arrived. I assumed it had gone to California since I had just moved, but I later found out that it had not. So, I called amazon on that they said it was never ordered in the first place.

Well it's a bummer to get all excited about something and then never have it happen. I've dealt with stupid petty disappointments enough to realize that it's not worth wanting, because wanting ain't having.

So, screw it. I'm pretty much through with amazon. But thanks for the effort, "Charles", it is the thought that counts.
