sorry bro. I don't have any plans either.
ojaeflo:
My condolences, brother. blush
Back in my single guy experience, I found that the earlier part of dating (like with a new prospect) was toughest from Christmas through Valentine's Day. It's just a tough stretch in that gift-giving time of the year when you're just feeling each other out.

I've found that St. Patrick's through Halloween is a much better time of the year to play the field. biggrin

Indeed! One of the best, if not THE best! oink

Hey, some Best Shots tips, if I may. Even though I have MS Office and everything, I bypass that and use a technique in composing my reviews and articles that's helped in many ways.

For one, I use resources that I can access from any computer, anytime. It allows me to write my reviews form like my in-laws' house in Michigan if we ever do a weekend or holiday trip without having to worry bringing my own computer.
I actually write the pieces in the "Reply" section of our Shots in the Dark private forum so that I can use the text formatting tools that happen to be applicable on the Newsarama site (like for italics, bold, and hotlinking text). There I can also continually hit "Preview" to make sure everything looks as it should on Newsarama (and always "Select All" and "Copy" before hitting "Preview" in case the Shotgun Reviews site goes weird at any given moment so you don't lose anything).

I then take the finished drafts, cut & paste them over to my Gmail (frequently saving along the way) and I send the work to Troy and Matt Brady by way of e-mail, NOT a Word document or in any other attachment. The e-mail itself is what Troy & Matt use from me. Even in Gmail via the Firefox web browser, it automatically spell-checks making it all that much easier.

Make sense? smile

I'm getting a laptop in time for WOnderCon, so I'll be able to do all kinds of reporting and whatnot.

Even more fun, WonderCon is once again on my birthday weekend!

It ends on Sunday, and monday morning I'll be 35!

Fuck, i'm getting old....

I'm 34.

In my 34 years, I've never watched an inauguration with any feeling other that "new president, same shit".

Watching Barack Obama take the oath of office yesterday, I felt something new.

Optimism.

I honest to god think we could be looking at one of the very great presidents.

I think we're in for something special.

13 days into the new year, and the only thing I can say is that I bought a set of Shamwows today.

God, I lead a boring life...

Happy new year!!!

It's been a hell of a year. Lot of lows, but enough highs to make it a good year, in all.

Got a new girlfriend, got a fucking AWESOME gig as a comic reviewer, and I've made some damn good friends.

In the long run, the few highs outweigh the many lows.

My best to each and every one of you.
oryon:
same here buddy.
ojaeflo:
I'll drink to that! smile

A couple months back, I wrote about a friend who had tried to kill himself.

The initial thought was that it was a murder attempt, but it turned out it was just him.

Well, he succeeded over the weekend,

On Friday, he got in a drunken fight with someone.

As the result, the mother of his daughter told him he'd never get to see her...
