getting old is certainly a bitch.

as some of you know, i started taking aviane last month, a low dose OCP (oral contraceptive pill, for those of you not in medicine). not for contraception, mind you, but for pain whose cause is most likely endometriosis. given the choices of laparoscopy surgery or going on the pill, i chose the latter.

fixed the cramps (yay!)... also had more headaches than usual this month, all of which responded well to ibuprofen. except 2, which didn't, and were probably "migraine variants" caused by the lack of hormones ingested during "placebo week" of the pill.

terrific. so medicine i am on for PAIN causes OTHER PAIN. so yesterday my primary doc gives me samples of relpax (migraine) and celebrex (acute big pain) because he says this will continue to happen until placebo week is over (sunday). only the relpax doesn't work, just drugs me out (and not in a good way) for the entire morning until finally at noon i take ibuprofen ayway and in an hour it's gone.

my gastro doc says i shouldn't take ibuprofen, but he can go fuck himself...

which leaves me pretty much where i started from...considering surgery...but for the most part too scared to do it...

arghhhh
