Joyrider,

Unfortunately, while Madison boasts of its multi-culturalism it remains very segregated. We don't have an official Mexican district, per se. However, we do have a part of town that's cheap enough for poor people to live in; so, that's where all of our Mexican people live. Anyway, there are quite a few restaurants run and patronized almost entirely by the local Mexican community. To be honest, I really don't know how authentic it is because I have never actually been to Mexico. But, I do know that it sure beats the hell out of both Taco Bell and Taco John.

Murkling,

I should have rented Kajemusha, but when I was downtown today, it totally slipped my mind. Yeah, I'll let you know when my company goes public... it's currently scheduled for October 2003. Which is cool because it gives a little time to start saving money for investment's sake. I'll try to be online at night sometime soon. I haven't been able to fall asleep lately; so, we can chat. Don't worry, it's not a psychological issue; it's just that when I lie down, I don't feel very comfortable. Maybe I need a new pillow or mattress.

Dia,

I'm so happy that someday we will have tea. All I need now is an excuse to go to CA. I like anything black... earl grey, chai, china black, ceylon... you name it, I'll drink it.

INKEDgirl,

I'm happy for those Mexicans and their business. I'm also happy to hear that you are drinking MGD... not just because it's fuckin' good but because you are helping the local Wisconsin economy. I guess I'm kind of a nationalist--except for my state rather than the whole country. I don't know what you'd call that exactly... but I hope it's not a redneck!

spinoza137,

Bertie Russell was awesome. He wrote Principia Mathematica... not that I've ever read it, but I have read some of the work of his collegues. Word on the street is that he's considered the pioneer of logical mathematics. Yeah him and Goedel were awesome.

I've always resereved a place in my heart for the number 137. Look at my AIM id. Also, 0137 used to be the pin number for my ATM card. Anyway, 137 has always intrigued physicists. The ratio 1/137 is approximately what is know as the fine structure constant. You get this number when you divide the square of an electron charge by twice the quantity of the Plank's constant times the speed of light times the permittivity of free space (e^2 / 2*epsilon*h*c). If I remember correctly, it is also the probability that an electron will capture the energy of a bombarding photon instead of scattering it... but don't quote me on that one.

Spinoza was cool too. I try to practice Zen (not that I'm very good at it) which does not really consider the notion of God. But personally, I think my own thoughts on God are very influenced by Spinoza. That is to say that God did not create nature but that God is nature. Of course Spinoza has been interpreted differently by so many people for the sake of justifying pantheism to mocking traditional monotheistic religions. I'll tell you one thing though... you gotta love a guy who gets excommunicated!

Tea is life. I would have a cup right now, as I am dying of thirst, but my roommate is having sex on the couch and I really don't want to walk out there, creepy shit.
