California dreamin' . . . no more trips to California, rainy season over. Maybe one more storm will take me down, but the field season is over, instruction ends next week and my thesis is due in May.
Train leaving for Italy soon. Jen and I are taking two weeks to wait out the decisions on our respective futures in academia. Jen's boyfriend has a 12-month job (why do people do that?) and my boyfriend is only in my imagination, so we're both free.
I've heard that Italy stays up and eats and drinks all night long. We haven't selected an itinerary. Anyone out there have suggestions? We're thinking of renting a car in Torino (very far north) and driving west and down along the coast until we find "the place". Other than that, no plans, except to put a quarter century to rest.
