As I sit on my porch smoking a cigar and having a beer watching hurricane Ian come across Florida looking at how the clouds are moving I know it’s a matter of time before it comes up to the Jacksonville area. Hoping all the people in south Florida are ok and somewhere safe. The wind blowing and waves of light rain will soon turn to heavy winds and rain. I know I didn’t order this for my 41st birthday today but will take things as they come. I know how bad storms of this size can get after living through hurricane Katrina when I was stationed in Pascagoula Mississippi, yes I was there when she made land fall. I guess the Floridian in me doesn’t scare easily with hurricanes but I still respect and have caution to them. The moment you lose respect for what Mother Nature is capable of you are on the wrong side. As for the SG and hopefuls in south Florida please be safe and careful. I’m continuously watching the movement of Ian and the intensity he is.
