So I'm going to call this a 77% good weekend, 23% bad weekend. To start, I had a nice thanksgiving with my family. Its usually a pretty big affair for us. This year were were missing a few people, so we had, say, 25 people? Its loads of fun. And since all my cousins are having there kids now, there are like 8 kids under the age of 10 running around. They just pass their energy on to me which is nice.
Also good news: I finally got my peroxide induced radical bromination to work on my substrate! Now I can move on the next step of my synthesis with this particular ligand. I still have to see if my other reaction worked.
Then I met up with my friend Matt this morning, and found out that my ex-girlfriend is now dating my old best friend. What a great group of people we are. I can't actually judge them, cause I may have sort of done the same thing, but still. Its weird to find something like that out.
And of course writing papers is no fun.
But I was really happy about my reaction and Thanksgiving, so I'm goinng to say those two events weigh more than the other two, and so it was an overall good weekend.
