What a good night! I was supposed to study for physics but instead I went to a party, and met this really cute girl. And not only is she cute, she's an applied math major. How sweet is that?
demoivre:
Nice! She can help you study for physics! wink
_mrs_tlb_:
hey i read you are a chemistry student! me too! just thought id share tongue

So here's what the next two weeks have stacked up for me: A 20 page paper for an O-chem lab, an honors physics midterm, applications to summer programs at Berkeley and Caltech, and if that wasn't enough, I have to present my research, which coincidentally, isn't going anywhere right now.

Why did I choose this major? Something about always being stuck in a lab, or...

demoivre:
Honors physics? I'm jealous. wink

Good luck with the sched.
caffeineheadache:
you should join one of the nerd groups and find a local nerd girl... wink

So, uh, Siren approaches perfection, at least in my opinion. Agree? Disagree? State your arguments.
demoivre:
Lol.

Your response on my journal page really made my day. Thanks! biggrin The irony is that the book in question had a really funny little blurb about Hilbert Space, but since I can't find it, I can't share it. *sigh*

Oh, and Siren does indeed approach perfection. Hell yeah. wink

*I thought about puting what I would like to think was a cute limit formula for Siren approaching perfection here, but then, why mess with perfection?*
caffeineheadache:
I'm going with yes.....
but perfect in a scary way.

Most underated comic strip of all time: the Boondocks. Everyone should pick up a copy of the book. Aaron McGruder is a genius. Very smart, and very funny.
faithless000:
i love that strip. i didn't know there was a book yet.
*runs to buy*
caffeineheadache:
I'll have to check it out ....

Gettin' ready for a new year. Goals for this year: learn how to play my shiny (albeit nicked) secondhand stratocastor, find a nice girl to spend quality time with, continue rocking school, save some money, spend some money on a powerbook G5, and of course, make more friends as to live and love is the meaning of life.
caffeineheadache:
all of those sound really hard....except the meaing of life thing.
demoivre:
Happy new year! Just thought I'd mention it. wink

:::SIGH:::
The holidays can be so nice and so horrible at the same time. I love seeing my family and the festivities, but I'm not enjoying the awkwardness of my exgirlfriend hanging out.
demoivre:
Ouch. Ex-girlfriend awkwardness. I don't envy.

I don't know if it helps, but I found the episodes here:

Good luck with the ex. Happy holidays to you too! biggrin

I'm not gonna lie
I'll not be a gentleman
Behind the boathouse
I'll show you my dark secret

I'm not gonna lie
I want you for mine
My blushing bride
My lover, be my lover, yeah...

Don't be afraid
I didn't mean to scare you
So help me, Jesus

I can promise you
You'll stay as beautiful
With dark hair
And soft skin...forever
Forever

Make...

Monica, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Mo-nii-ca. When will you be mine?

On a less stalker-ish note, finals are over! Go me!

So here's the story of my life as it stands: Everything is great. School is going really well, I love what I do, I have a productive job, a lot of good friends, I have fun and get everything done, but here's the kicker: I cannot find a girl. It seems that I meet these great girls but they're all either dating someone already, or...

I sort of like finals. I thrive off of stress.

Would anyone like to donate 3000.00 dollars to the Pat (me) wants a Powerbook G4 fund?
demoivre:
Ooo...wait. I just had three grand a second ago. wink

Diff eq's are diff eq's. I start linear algebra next semester, although I've worked with it quite a bit on my own--because I'm that kind of sicko. biggrin Chemistry, huh? Trying to avoid that like the plague, although biophysics is very appealing these days--I'm just afraid they would say that I had to take O Chem and then I might puke. puke wink

Edited because that sounded bad. What I mean is...I hate chemistry. He, he. Just kidding. I hate memorization and so far chem is just that. I'd rather take a situation and derive an equation--or fifty--rather than memorize chemical stuff. If they do make me take higher chem classes, I'm hoping I can do it after taking grad level quantum, so that I can just derive a chemical from the particle level up and not memorize anything. Riiighttt. biggrin

Good point. That would be the reason I'm not a biologist. No offense taken, by the way. I think you should always defend what you love. biggrin
