Jagermeister gets a particular reputation due to its abuse by various people, especially certain specific groups of people. It is one the things that makes me so sad in this life. I haven't had any in a very long time. I picked some up this weekend as I was at a good liquor store, collecting treasures, and I found a holiday pack with lovely glasses. I keep my bottle in the freezer. I like it frozen, but I also like letting the glass sit. i drink fair sips over time. sometimes I let it sit on my tongue to warm and allow the bouquet to waft up the back of my mouth into my nose. There are real liqueurs. Those that have a true history and tradition. The secret elixirs from an apothecaries garden. There are some newer liqueurs that are ok. Mostly they are something akin to a millkshake with grain alcohol. Real liqueurs are life, medicine, magic, poison, perfection. When you can drink it and it becomes a journey through intense vortices of ever greater complexity. Like a dance of life, primordial chemistry. Atoms becoming organic molecules cavorting and becoming. It is so wonderful. Each rich, syrupy sip with its soft burn is like sipping more life. Nourishing and warm, yet with its poisonous sting. Alcohol and sex are sacred to me. It is so heartbreaking to see them so abused and unappreciated. The abuse of anything is horrible. Abuse isn't love. Love, appreciation, respect. That is what it is all about. Cherish, praise, devotion. These are not things for imaginary characters, narrow minded dogmas, and the wounded cheating through their problems. They are for real important elements of real living. The elements of a passionate life investing in real beautiful things.
