The Ways I don't Understand Women: Part One of an Ongoing Series

let me paint you a scene:

i have a friend who i've known since we were in our teens. we got along great and seemed to click and we talked about getting together but nothing ever happened due to distance.

we kept in touch as she went off to school, which at a few points was overseas. since she's finished she's first moved back home, and then closer, and we've hung out since (including her spending the night sleeping). but i still didn't act on it cause she's way out of my league now. inspite of that recently i mentioned something along the lines about hooking up and got flat out rejected. no biggie

anyway, she recently said we should hang out during the week, but because it'd be later in the evening she asked if i would mind her staying the night and going to work from here.

i have no idea how to read this situtation (assuming there's something to read into)
