Equality cannot be achieved without equity.
Assuming that everyone right here and now already starts on a level playing field makes an ass out of you, and a criminally ignorant one to boot. I grow bored of watching our society handing unnecessary concessions to those who still act confused at the concept of social/racial/sexual privilege. They aren't confused, they are contemptible scum who see the idea of equality laughable and the concept of starting down that road with equity as out right theft of their already stolen inheritance.
Feminism has suffered too long and too hard trying to gain equality for us to wind up raising future generations who only look at it as something dusty and best left in the attic. Every woman in your life deserves your social equity and as your partners, your sexual equity.
Making things right, making things better, is an ongoing process and it isn't about you playing the blame game or assuaging your guilt, as a matter of fact, it has precious little to do with you as a man and perhaps that is the problem.
