We knew we were onto something with the holographic stills. The baby didn't cry if mamma was always there, even when she wasn't. No more panicked dogs barking at being abandoned. Peace and calm, a break for the tired and weary, that was our altruistic objective. They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions and I know it is now. We couldn't know, couldn't imagine what our creations would become capable of, the lengths they would go to realize their own identity.
