"Garrett looks back to the old parking lot, considering the few inches of soft, fresh fallen snow that Robarts landed into."
“He’ll die from the cold now, laying out there squawking like a baby bird with a shattered spine until sleep takes him.”
"Gris smiles behind her ghastly mask, “He earned it.”
“As will we all. There is no undoing the mistakes of the past. Only making amends for them.”
“All those old books you’re always quoting and reading from, like my father used to, we’re part of a new story now. Do you figure it involves redemption?”
"Garrett is taken back to his own hell, his wondering about the possibility of redemption never found. “There’s no redemption here, and no need for sin either. "Gris interrupts Garrett as they head down the game trail east, “And then?”
“And then we turn to dust or gold, her choice.”
"Gris nods, “Let’s go get golden then.”
