Last night I drank a bunch of Jameson's, stayed up till 5 am when I was finally completely sober, then got up at 9 to teach 6 hours of lab sections today.
After my final lab session was over tonight, I went to a women writing about women seminar? at Goucher. Maxine Hong Kingston was giving a talk/reading. I liked her immediately. She was interesting and well spoken. She talked a bit about feminism, as well as her anti-war activities, and read & discussed some passages from her writing.
She spilled a cup of water on herself after being bumped by the lady introducing her on her way to the podium. Either she didn't notice...or played it off gracefully. I'm inclined to believe the latter, as she momentarily had an odd look on her face immediately after it happened.
I had some more things to say about her talk, but I really don't feel like writing about writing in depth about such issues right now.
