also cool that you like feet. i like pretty feet, and i definitely have a shoe fetish, but i've always been really disappointed by people who hate feet. i work w/ people who have no qualms a/b sticking their bare hands in feces or vomit or blood or urine but can't stand the thought of touching feet or having their feet touched. what's up w/ that? one girl i work w/ can't stand the touch of cotton balls. now that's weird.

ps: i don't know if i agree w/ the statement that women always feel like things are being hurled at them. that makes all women sound kind of hysterical and panicky. not buyin it.

first of all, Ringu is not the "japanese version of The Ring". The Ring is the american remake of Ringu.
second, Ringu is WAY scarrier, more avante garde, more interesting, and not hollywood shlock.
third, the little boy's not supposed to have a big role, except that the fact that he's seen the video is what motivates his mother to solve the mystery. the key character in the movie is the little girl and her mother - ghosts from the past, people who were persecuted for being different.
fourth, they knew where to find the well b/c it was in the town where the mother and daughter lived, where the first kids to die saw the original video, under the cabin where they stayed and the whole landscape, including the well are shown in the video.

fifth, as for the girl climbing out of the tv - that's the scarriest part! you're horrified by this girl (whose face you never see in Ringu - another thing that makes it scarrier - the japanese are better at subtlety, in an extreme kind of way, unlike hollywood they don't feel the need to hold your hand and walk you through every little plot twist) lurching towards you, but you're transfixed b/c it's just a video, it's just on the tv, but that doesn't stop her!
anyway, i get a little defensive a/b my favorite entertainments, and Ringu scared the shit out of me, right up there w/ The Exorcist.
that's just my opinion.

for one thing, origins comes out i think next month... other than that... i have no clue
