Anybody Know About Sleep?

This is a plea for advice. Does anybody have any sleep expertise? I’ll try to be brief. Essentially, I always struggle to get to sleep. I listen to ASMR and chill music, I have mild tranquillisers, but sleep just doesn’t happen easy. My sleep patterns have always been chaos, no matter what I do.

Basically, yesterday I did EVERYTHING right. I got up in the morning, did plenty all day, a long and fast walk outside, hitting my goals, talking to people, eating right. My final coffee was early in the day, I took my meds early too, I hydrated, I had two hours with my phone completely off, I put my thoughts in a journal, I had a hot bath …but I am still awake at 7:30am for fuck sake. I’ve never even been close to sleep tonight.

It was hard work getting back into the day time yesterday - I had to stay up more than 24h to achieve that. And literally the next day I’m awake all night again, and it means today is already gone now.

I don’t know what to do.

I’m expert level at this unfortunately! I have found Lunesta is a lifesaver & cpap, if you have sleep apnea. As far as getting to sleep I try to be consistent with everything you mention & I do something called box breathing - great for lowering stress & anxiety, calms the mind..Breathe out slowly, releasing all the air from your lungs.Breathe in through your nose as you slowly count to four in your head. Be conscious of how the air fills your lungs and stomach.Hold your breath for a count of four.Exhale for another count of four.Hold your breath again for a count of four.Repeat for three to four rounds. Practice, practice, practice. šŸ€
