ā€œA song you loveā€ @fredhincanada

There are so many songs I could have chosen, but I’ve decided on Jee Veerey by Bloodywood because it has literally saved lives. Just read the comments 😮 the title means ā€˜live, brave one’ and it’s all about surviving our darkest moments. Because in them ā€˜iron is forged’. It’s an unforgettable track, both for its message and for that fact...

ā€œA piece of artā€ @fredhincanada

This piece of art is called Endless Love, by a local artist. I spent everything I could afford on it, years ago now. It’s all ink on canvas. Must have taken ages. I do believe some forms of love and connection are endless and transcendent, and that’s what this represents to me. When I see it, it reminds me not

Thanks, guys. @sorcerer333 all I had at the time was the equivalent of $100. Thankfully, this was acceptable. I know it’s worth more. I think I’d always give everything I had for it.
fredhincanada:
What?Ā  Friends listen to "Endless Love" in the dark.Ā  Beautiful choice!

Inspired by @dicentra ā€˜s confessional style of poetry in her recent Blog I want to share a poem I wrote a while back. Thanks also to @berlin_2013 for the vote of confidence and @fredhincanada for being @fredhincanada

Her Name Is Depression

I’ve got this problematic girlfriend

Her name is Depression

I don’t think we’ll ever end

It’s like she’s

ā€œSomething you’ve createdā€ @fredhincanada

Some time in 2013 I woke up from a dream with tears in my eyes. I’d seen a girl in a field of wildflowers with a lone oak in the centre. Somehow, I just knew she was called Everlie. At the time, I was a creative writing student, and I was working on what I was calling

@eminerale I can only imagine how proud you must feel, to be able to write a book when you find it hard to be productive. Well done for persisting with it. You immediately come across as a creative person to me, I hope that makes you feel like the talented and passionate person that you are. (I don't know you well but you have shown me that through your words.)
eminerale:
Thank you @dicentra. I appreciate the encouragement a lot. I tend to get really creative about every three months, it’s like some kind of life cycle. That’s why I’ve focused on flash fiction because you can get one done in a day. The novel is all there in my head, but my times of creativity are not sustained enough to drive it forwards.

I have to answer this question with A Tale For The Time Being by Ruth Ozeki ā¤ļø

It’s the story of Nao, a Japanese teenager who writes about her life in her journal, and Ruth, a Canadian woman who finds this journal washed up in a Hello Kitty lunchbox on a beach in British Colombia. Ruth becomes deeply invested

Hey SG Land.
I wanted to write about something special to me that I think fits with the vibe and aesthetic of SG.
Many people love ambient or cinematic music, but the dark ambient from the Bandcamp label Cryo Chamber is extraordinary. They have a stable of incredibly creative ambient musicians creating deliciously dark, unsettling and storied music.
