Good god damn. I barely have a second to breathe. Work has once again stomped its boot squarely on my neck. I'm a frenetic mess trying to get all this nonsense done and wriggle free from its choke hold. Oh god... I cannot wait for the day when I can quit and transport myself back to bookish nerd status at some viney university somewhere. The countdown is about six months. My fantasies about leaving this place during the working hours are getting out of hand.

I attended the double-feature of Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet last Friday night. Slowly stepping out of a David Lynch fest onto a poorly lit street at an awkward time in the wee hours of the morning is a bit daunting. I kept expecting some surreal character to turn the corner and scare the pants off of me as I lit my well-deserved cigarette. Even the less-than-surreal characters seemed to have fishy eyes and peculiar intentions.

I highly recommend it.
