Today was one of those days that would've gone better if I never had woken up.
Firstly let's start with my habit of waking up at precisely 11.25am, now this has happened for the last three days. It didn't help that on Monday I had to be in work for 10 and ended up being quite late, if only they would fire me.... But yes, waking up at this time means that a lot of my days off is spent uselessly sleeping when there is shitloads that I have to do.
Therefore to lighten my mood, I decided to take on quite an ambitious cake to bake Alex for his birthday. After buying all the ingredients that I needed I made a start, it was all going well and then I put it in the oven. While it was cooking I decided that I would book cinema tickets for me and Alex to see toy story 3 tonight, but I cocked up and booked them for tomorrow night instead. I was so angry at myself for doing this, how could I be so stupid?!
So in the meantime, I took the cake out of the oven and left it to cool, assuming that it had all turned out well. Until I decided to take it out of the cake tin and to my horror, only the top and the sides of the cake had cooked, the centre was totally liquid!! I have no idea how it went so wrong, I followed the recipe precisely and everything. After this total disaster I have to decided to give up baking forever.
Now don't get me wrong, I love baking, but I am so fed up of spending so much time, effort and money trying to get a cake perfect, only having it collapse on me. Therefore I am totally giving it up. It is shop brought cakes from now on.
Oh and to top it all off, I stood on a piece of glass and Alex isn't happy with me.
