cleaning cleaning...packing packing

my nerosis from the previous evening is begining to fade and I am becoming excited again smile

hans is picking me up from the airport...i love having him be the first person that I see. Besides my family, its him whom I miss more than anything.

I can't wait to sit in coffee shops sipping black gold, listening to the familiar sounds of...

I just got home...had class tonight...which only adds to my exhaustion. The prospect of sleep does not appear to be in my future until Sunday...so far away. But it will be at home, in my original house (sadly without my little pugsey though frown )

I'm getting nervous about going home. This always happens. I miss it so greatly from afar, and then when the time...

That's tough. I've been through something similar, in which I felt like after I returned from college (and when I visit now), my hometown held nothing for me anymore, and the things and the people I loved were completely empty.

Then when I would return to school, or Chicago, I would miss it. But after a while, I think I came to realize that I didn't miss Rockford, I missed part of my childhood. I missed blowing money at the comic book shop and driving through the country without a care in the world, and going to the arcade with my friends, and pulling all-nighters playing Dungeons and Dragons or inviting the crazy girls down the block over to my friend Jeff's swimming pool and making out in the basement, and going to Punk shows.

Yikes. That was just a strange peak into my high school years...

Anyway, it's tough. You can't always go back, but you can move forward, whether it's in Minneapolis OR LasVegas. Sorry. I don't mean to sound like a self-help manual here. Just throwing in my two cents. Best of luck, dearest. kiss

Try to relax (that drink sounds good; here, let me pour you one!)... look at it from the perspective that you'll never know unless you go. I moved away from my hometown just under a year ago, and I think I'm finally just beginning to adjust. I find now though, that when I go back I no longer say I'm going home, I say I'm going to (insert town name here) for a visit. I think that's because my Mom moved though, it was home while she was there. Man, do I ever sound like a little kid now! biggrin Anyway, just try to take it easy and just see how it goes (and don't forget about that drink)! wink

I am utterly exhausted. I just got up from a two hour nap. Lecturing all day kicks my ass. I managed to get the presentaiton down to 11 pages and 55 slides .... not bad for 1200 years of art history and four movements. But...I only got halfway through...usually I can finish 11 pages in a day but I guess even though things weren't written...

I feel ya. This is the busiest week of the year and I am getting my ass kicked I am so short handed. On top of that I'm going on vacation on saturday so I'm stressed about all that. I'm not moving away, just to a bigger house. My wife is a second generation native, (and 2nd generation ccsd teacher) so our roots are firmly planted.

Thanks! Sometimes I wish I could kiss myself (girls' lips are so different from boys', both equally wonderful though.) There's nothing better than a sweet, soft kiss.

RE eScotties comment....My bro was on a walk, talking to me on his cell, when he saw it. He was walking by just as they were towing the van away....Freaky. surreal "It's a small world after all..." Anyway, it was a pretty amazing thing no one was killed...not even the guy in the van. WOW

Hope your lesson goes well today & you can enjoy your coffee one sip at a time. (Instead of by the gallons)

smile

I like the t-shirt, it reminds me a little of the Melancoly death of oyster boy stories. What do you plan to do in the summer t-shirt wise? Most of my wardrobe consists of rock t's for bands i've seen. That's about as interesting as it gets.

I watched Summer of Sam last night...for the sole purpose that Adrian Brody was in it (crushes are silly but he is quite lovely)...and I wasn't disapppointed. The movie was pretty good...not what I was expecting. And seeing Adrian Brody as a Sid Visciousesque punk with silly faux Brittish accent who played in a band led to some very nice dreams during sleep last night...

No we don't have green beer here, i think that was an advertising thing used to promote St. Paddy's Day in the US, another reason why i got out of advertising, that and my soul was tarnished. The only drink i will be filling myself with come thursday is the black stuff; Guiness. I don't need an excuse to drink Guniess it but i'll happily use it since it's there.

seven hundred years of art history, one day - paraphrase, that's my tip.

Does your pug have name? (i hope it's a cool one)

I don't know how to put into words exactly what I am feeling right now. Its a mixture of emotions all floating around delusion and misinformation.

I know quite a few things about someone else. Someone else whom I am not friends with and particularily don't like...because, well, she's wretched. But...it is extremely difficult to learn things that she thinks are true..rambling on and on...

It may be hard to believe based on my profile pic, but I'm kinda camera shy. Especially camera phone shy...maybe its me, but I've tried from all angles & they're all terrible!

I can imagine you're getting pretty excited for next weekend. Being so far away from friends & family can be so difficult. I moved to Long Beach about 10 years ago for what was supposed to be a 2 year stay. I was so miserable, I only lasted for 3 months before I moved back. It takes a strong person to start over somewhere completely new. I COMMEND you!!! smile

So...how often do you make it back???
1aine:
Poland in the summertime....I'm so jealous! smile .....

And you'll be back for the summer.....oooooooo......maybe, if you ever need a break from the heat, a cool off by the big lake could be arranged??? You'll have to bring your camera! wink

Well....by 1:30 I was very glad that it was Friday and I only had an hour left of school. I never thought I would grow to hate my name so much...especially when said with an extended whine over and over and over and over and over again. I've decided that children today lack indpendance...even at the high school level. You would assume that at the...

Sorry to disappoint....but no new pics. The night turned out to be rather uneventful.

Burt's Bees Wax...I love that stuff! We've got a couple of tins lying around here somewhere, but its never where I can find it when I need it.

Sounds like you'll be able to stock up on it soon though. There's nothing like going back to put a little pep in your step! (I was from there before I moved to here.) Its so nice going back to get a little culture every now & then. smile

Have a great time!!!! kiss

Sometimes...there is nothing better than driving in your car at 75 mph, listening to David Bowie, and singing along at the top of your lungs.

"When you rock n' roll with me....there's no one else I'd rather be....no one else can do it for me....when you rock n' roll with me."

I'm actually in a pleasant mood...dispite the fact that one of my kiddies (and...

My love of booze runs deep. I drink Coor's Light if i want beer, Red Wine when i want wine, i drink guiness when i'm in any pub / bar, but my addiction to spirits is ridiulous. I tend to stick to spirtits in clubs here's a list of my favorites: Captain Morgans & coke, voka & orange (in fact vodka anything), whiskey straight (single malt... i am scottish after all), White Russians (hmmmm), white russians (cause one's not enough) and you'll be glad to hear that i am also a massive Gin & Tonic fan (it's been my drink/spirit of choice for about two years now) Instead of uploading me and beer pic, i shouls have uploaded the me and G&T pics, i'm sure you would have found them more rewarding.

Are you more of an indoors gin drinker or a bar, club drinker?

ciao.

Today was pretty good...exhausting but good. I made t-shirts by silk screening. They are turning out really good and I'm excited about them. Right now, its just t-shirts for the art club kiddies...but through learning I will be able to make other shirts that I want. The wheels are turning skull

I hate that I am so exhasted when I get home from work. I have...

No sleeping yet...

Yeah I heard that 'the desert tells no tales'

You mentioned you liked adrian broady, he's really good in Summer of Sam, he plays guy who is trying really hard to come across as a london punk, he reminds me of my flatmate in nyc. He was from Alabama but loved punk and idolised Sid Vicious, when you see the movie you'll get the idea.

That reminds me, my favorite Street in NYC is St. Marks, but i do have an affinity with 13th between second and first cause that's where i used to live. right next door to the laundrymat.

What do you put on the t-shirts? I'd like to see one.

I can symapthise with your sleep habbit. since birth I don't really sleep nights but i do require an hour here and there at bizzare times to get by. Good luck with your nap.

...now you can sleep.

and i wish it was 80 degrees here! i'm wearing a jacket and scarf and hat with a blanket wrapped around me because the wind is coming into my apartment!

Did you ever see the movie summer of sam? the heat makes people nutty. Just look out for the for the man who takes killing instructions from his dog. Or maybe you could use the heat to go insane and take revenge AS a serial killer.

I have had a lovely day. The weather here is perfect...my windows and patio door are open and the sun is shining...the weather is the best part of living here...and not worrying about sloppy snow ruining perfectly pretty shoes wink

Yesterday, I went to a pick-nick at a friends...that was also nice...sitting on the patio...lovely.

I also got approval to take a day off in May...

I was thinking of picnics this morning but it's still bitterly cold here, but now that you've mentioned them all i can think is: "Hey BoBo, there's a pick-a-nick basket."

I love NYC, i was fortunate enough to spend a bit of time there. I would love to revist my old street sometime soon.

All in all that sounds too cool for school.

Thanks very much smile .. your drawings are brilliant.

It is currently 7:45 in the morning and I am not happy to be awake. I was all cozy in my bed with Sidney's little soft head resting on my tummy when blood began to poor out of my nose. Not the kind of wake-up call I expected this Sunday.

So...now I am up....and have absolutely no urge to do anything but try to fall...

Sorry to hear about the nosebleed. I used to get them all the time. Don't know exactly what changed. I am awakened by my cat(s) each morning with great regularity. I remember a particularly strange morning when I woke to find my cat perched upon my chest and smelling my breath as she is wont to do, her eyes were slightly narrowed with HUGE pupils and her mouth open. I could so immediately understand the old tales of cats stealing breath in the night. It was a little eerie for the first couple of seconds.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I don't know how it will turn out with my ex. We've had sex enough since we broke up to know it won't become a relationship but i don't know if we can have friendship without my ex thinking this might become a relationship.

This is the first time i have ever seen friendship get in the way of sex, as opposed to sex getting in the way of a friendship.
