And so, the much anticipated trip to Vegas has come to a close.
A hasty goodbye was uttered to a few of the girls who rode in the same cab together to the airport: Akemi, Reagan, Sawa, and Lenore. I did not get an opportunity to say goodbye to anyone else as we were rushed off to the airport in seperate cabs.
But let's go back...let's Terentino it and figure this out.
When I first landed in Vegas, I wasn't the bag of nerves I thought I would be. I was just excited...excited to meet the girls and excited to feast my eyes on what I would later discover to be the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. I gave Alexis a ring when I landed and she told me to take a cab to the Venitian...there I met Sawa and Lenore in the lobby, and we made our way (quite awkwardly) up to our room, 32-103.
The first thing I noticed were the beds. There were these fancy canopy-esque hangings at the headboards, and there was also a fridge (which had a bunch of food in it that you're not allowed to touch unless you want your room to be charged 2093589745 dollars.) In the next room over, 32-105, I met Akemi and Bee, and...well, all the other girls just sota came pouring in after that and for awhile I was totally overwhelmed. My shyness kicked in bigtime and the nerves that weren't previously there flared up like a violent case of genital herpes. I tried my best to be personable but I definitely felt like the odd duck of the group, especially since some of the girls already knew each other.
The girls all gathered in room 32-103 and we had a brief meeting about the fashion show that would take place the following night. Everyone ordered drinks and cookies and strawberries and things of that nature and we looked at mass quantities of ho cards that were being passed out on the street. I think Roxy and I came to the conclusion that Devi was the ho that we would fuck.
Akemi took me down into the casino area to buy me some gelato (with Sean's money, of course!). She mentioned that I seemed nervous, and I said, "Yeah, I am nervous." She told me not to be...she was extremely nice to me despite my awkwardness and I'm glad she could tell that I was trying my best not to come off as a stuck up snob. I get really shy around beautiful girls, it's a weakness of mine.
The following day we all went to the Las Vegas convention center to pass flyers out at the Magic show to promote Chaser's clothing (and our own, obviously, since Chaser is distributing it). There was a lot of waiting around after our job had been done, and eventually, a few of the girls were assigned the task to pass out minature bottles of vodka to a selected number of people. Lucky for us, only one person accepted a bottle of vodka from Sawa so we ended up with a shitload of vodka later on.
Around 6:30, the girls were escorted to the Beauty Bar in an SUV limo. Wow, that was a really huge surprise, I thought we were going to take a shuttle bus or something. We arrived at the bar, and the first thing I noticed was how much smaller it was than I imagined it...there were two rooms, one with the actual bar, and a row of salon chairs along the opposite wall. The next room had a couple of couches, as well as innumerable boxes that had all of the Chaser clothes for the fashion show in there. The girls started picking feverishly through the shirts as well as the shoes, all of which we got to keep after the show.
Ah, yes, it was a good moment then, rummaging through clothes with the girls, thinking about the heat of the moment when we'd all be up on the runway strutting our stuff...and then suddenly, that wonderful moment got crushed when I heard the news from Sean:
"Anyone who's under 21 can't be in the bar, you'll either have to hang around outside or go back to the hotel."
Well, I'm not 21. Neither is Reagan, Akemi or Apnea. So we went back to the hotel while the other girls stayed at the bar. I was really bummed out at first, envisioning the other girls drinking and mingling with all the bar patrons and listening to the bands play. But, I think the four of us "under 21ers" managed to have a good time for ourself while not at the bar.
Akemi, Reagan and myself were going to go rock climbing in the hotel, but we soon found that we had to make an appointment ahead of time, as well as pay 50 bucks for 25 minutes (fuck that!), so instead we bought some chocolate and ice cream, and then made an attempt to break into the Wax Museum. Reagan was the brave one who went in first, and Akemi and I soon followed. However, there was a second level of security up the stairs so we just played dumb and went back to the entrance.
After coming back to to 32-103, Apnea invited me to snort sprinkles with her and Akemi. She crushed the sprinkles up by putting them under a dollar bill and running a credit card over it multiple times. The three of us snorted up the sprinkle dust with rolled up dollar bills, and for hours afterwards the mucus in the back of my throat tasted like cotton candy. We also were very bad girls and drank a bunch of the minature bottles of vodka, as well as some Bacardi that Apnea had. We got a little tipsy, but not too drunk for the fashion show. We also played volleyball with balloons, and Reagan started taking pics of everyone, then Sean took pictures of us with big hair. I really hope that I see those pictures at some point!
The show itself was shorter-lived than anticipated. I will not disclose why that is, but we left in a hurry and didn't really talk about it much the next day.
The convention the next day was pretty much the same as the first day...we had to hand out flyers. My partner in crime for this excursion was KayLiane, with whom I became very good friends with on this trip. After our work was done for the day, a bunch of the girls went out to the buffet at the Mirage, but some of us stayed at the Venetian, including KayLiane and myself, since we had just eaten a buttload of rice at the convention and weren't really up for food.
Instead of going to the buffet, KayLiane lent me one of her bikinis and we went down to the pools outside, which were surrounded with archways adorned with beautiful foliage as well as Romanesque statues. It was really amazing out there, and even more amazing still was next to the actual pool was a smaller pool filled with hot water, not as hot as a hot tub, but warmer than bath water...oh god, it was Heaven. Along the wall of the smaller pool was a giant statue of a seashell, and water cascaded down from it. There were also stone faces on the wall that were basically, well, puking water into the pool. It was absolutely marvelous, all that warm water and relaxation and the company of KayLiane.
Later on we went into the actual hottub and met a woman who owns a modeling agency, who was in the company of a girl who models for her. The girl in the tub apparently was modeling backless underwear at the Magic convention. We had a good conversation about that for awhile. Eventually, the woman gave KayLiane and I her card, afer which the two of us decided we were finally hungry.
Kay and I went to a restaurant in the casino area of the hotel and ordered some tres expensive meals which we hardly ate due to the spinach dip appetizer we ordered. Oh well, it was good nonetheless. Kay went to bed after that, and we decided to save our farewells for breakfast the following morning.
I went back to room 32-103 and found that some of the girls were congregated in the next room over, discussing plans of going to a strip club. I wanted to go, but no one had a fake ID for me. So, I went to bed instead.
So that's how I spent my last night in Vegas. I went to bed...haha, oh well, going to bed early felt really nice after the last couple of days.
The next morning, I didn't get to say goodbye to KayLiane as I'd hoped. Some of the girls staying in her room got up late and we never got to meet them and say goodbye. She called me at the airport though, and we said we'd keep in touch. Awesomely enough, there was a friend request from her waiting for me when I got back. You're so totally awesome, Kay!
And that was my trip to Vegas in a nutshell. A lot of other things happened besides what I mentioned but this entry is already so long, if I included every grueling detail it would turn into a novel.
I'm really happy that I got to meet everyone there and I hope to see you all again someday in the hopefully not so distant future, and hopefully at a point in my life when I'm not battling social anxiety....cock'n'balls.
