Steve and I are currently trying to get wireless for "our" apartment...there's some company advertising in the Philadelphia weekly for wireless that's only 20 dollars a month, apparently they have to stick an antenna to the building or something...if that works out, then you will all be hearing from me on a much more frequent basis. Joy of all joys, yes?
I thought I forgot to put Halloween and post-Halloween party drinking pics on my thumbdrive but I have a few here, so here's just a couple for your amusement:
From left to right: Me, some girl I don't know, Felicia, and Amanda who will hopefully take pics for her first SG set soon
Random pic of me doing a shot at a small gathering a couple of days after Halloween.
Yeah, that's all I've got right now, so sue me.
I saw NIN with Steve on Saturday...I'm not really sure what to say about it because it was both enjoyable and yet lacking at the same time. First of all, our seats were directly to the side and there was some stage equipment obstucting our view part of the time...also, for a couple of songs, a screen was pulled down in front of the band and a video was playing but I couldn't see what the Hell it was. The sound was okay but there was a lot of reverb since we were in a stadium...and I also came to the realization that I'm not as big of an NIN fan as I thought because there were a few songs that I didn't even recognize. Steve in his infinite wisdom of NIN seemed to know the words to every song. A couple of songs actually made me cry a little...and then of course I sang along with some of the more well-known songs...and that was that. When the fuck did Trent shave his head?? Oh, and the guitarist was fun to watch, he kept knocking over one of the amps and at the end of night, he threw a mic stand into it. Trent also threw a mic stand off the stage, and him and the guitarist were falling over each other at one point. My inner pervert was hoping they'd make out a little.
Update: Apparently my recollection of the NIN event is off...I just read Steve's blog and he said: "the guitarist threw his guitar through his amp, took out the guitar, shoved it back in a couple times, then grabbed the amp and threw it off the stage nearly decapitating one of the event staff." Hmm, his description sounds more fun. I don't remember now if it was the mic stand or his guitar...I don't remember the amp getting thrown off stage either...uhh, I was kind of out of it because I had a shot of grape Puckers, two shots of sky vodka and a shot of Southern Comfort before we left...
I don't remember if I mentioned this already but I'm taking yoga classes now, and right after my first class Septa went on strike, which sucks because it costs 20 dollars for a cab there and back...luckily that little chapter of despair is over and Septa is up and running again, now I just need to figure out how this whole bus system works...yeah, I've never used
a city bus before, shut up.
