Do you ever feel like you're in a contest to have the last word with the cashiers at whichever place you're in? The transaction is complete.

Me: Here ya go. {Hands her money}
Cashier: Thank you.
Me: You're welcome.
Cashier: Have a nice day.
Me: You too.
Cashier: Thank you.
Me: You're welcome.
Cashier: Take care.
Me: Same to you.
Cashier: Thanks for shopping at ______.
Me: Thank YOU.
Cashier: You're welcome.
Me: See ya.
Cashier: Have a nice day.
Me: You said that already.
Cashier: Did I?
Me: Yes.
Cashier: I'm sorry.
Me: It's fine. Just letting you know. It's not really the same as saying "thank you" or "you're welcome" again. There are rules.
Cashier: Thank you.
Me: You're welcome.
Next person in line: Shut the fuck up.
Me: I guess I'd better go.
Cashier: Have a nice day.
Me: Ok, you win.
Cashier: Hooray for me.
