worst weekend ever.

but it all seems to be working out okay.

i borrowed my friend dylan's car (he's filling in for us on bass since our other bassist quit) to drive back to new york for work sunday morning. and everything was going fine until at about 3:30 am when i hit a deer.

i was hysterical. luckily i was able to swerve so i only hit the deer with the side of the car instead of hitting it head on.

i felt so bad about dylan's car though. this is what it looked like after the accident:





but, dylan was totally cool about it. he was just glad that i wasn't hurt, and i offered to fix the car. his friend ended up doing the labor for free and the parts only cost $60. thank god.

my job didn't fire me, even though i ended up being 1.5 hours late sunday morning. also, thank god.

in other news, look at what i got in the mail today:



it's the record for the early november - the room's too cold. it was on sale for $6 so i ordered it like last week and forgot all about it. and yes, the record is white, and it came with a picture/lyrics sheet and it's lovely.

there's some new posts up at my writing blog, Weathered Words, including an article about Random Acts of Kindness Week and a paper about why Paris Hilton should become a public school teacher.

and finally, some pictures of my already hideously messy apartment. (i just moved in this weekend, which kind of explains the mess.)
