my very first roommate in college was still in a long-distance relationship from high school. there's a big long series of stories i have about her cheating on him, etc.

but my answering machine was the one we used, and it had begun malfunctioning and would only play messages once.

she decided to give him a breakup note over the machine, and i was the only one there when i played it.

so there i was, scribbling away, trying to get all this shit in. i eventually gave up and just used one line.

"i'm tired of being your emotional punching bag"

i scribbled it on a note, left it on his bed, and left.

ha ha.
