Fuck Greenville, NC
(sorry to anyone who lives there.. or NC for that matter)
Last night was a pretty shitty night...
Im sleeping nice and comfortable in my bed in PA when i get a phone call at 3:30 AM from my boyfriend (whose band is currently on tour down to FL). He's all in a panic and is saying that Rob (lead singer/guitarist/good friend of mine) was just held up at gunpoint for $6.00. and someone had been shot. I had to do a double take and make him repeat what he said... but he cuts me off saying Rob is on the phone and he'll call right back and hangs up...
so i wait..
10 mins pass... nothing... so i call back... this time my friend Keith gets on the phone with some more details..
Turns out this is what went down..
The boys arrived in NC at the venue where the show will be held tonight. The promoter said that they could sleep at the place so the guys go out and get beer and hang out and drink. When they first arrived the show that was there last night was just ending and they met some girls who invited them to a party later if they wanted to roll..
a few hours pass by and 4 of the dudes go to a sheetz to get some food.. they decided to call the girls and they meet them at the gas station and take them to this party.. which is about 1 block away from East Carolina University.. so they're hanging there for a while.. not to big of a party.. just a handful of people hanging out in the back yard around a fire..
Some time around 3:30 am a man enters the house and comes out through the back door with a shot gun and demands that everyone empties their pockets... meanwhile.. a gunshot goes off in the front yard and everyone scatters...
long story short... none of my friends were hurt but unfortunately a kid was shot trying to disarm one of the gunmen from the front yard..
in total my friends lost over $300... but there is a slight chance they can get it back..
they're still stuck in Greenville until late tonight because there show doesn't start until 9.. but after they're done they're getting the hell out of there and heading for SC...
between phone calls and text messages and panic attacks i did fall back asleep until 6:00 this morning.. and was up at 8:00 for work..
