So this past weekend was pretty cool. I got to play in all 3 of our games (I was the only rookie who played more than one
) On my very first tackle ever I made a girl cry haha. I grabbed her by the shirt and kicked her feet out from underneath her and when she landed she started crying. She said to another girl on her team "she grabbed me by my shirt, I didn't think you were allowed to do that" and her teammate said "yeah they can...you just fucked up." hahahahaha. Then there was an older woman on the Wisconsin club team that got the ball and I jumped on her back to tackle her. She was TOUGH so I am more proud of that tackle than the whiney little girl one. I got hit a few times and have some sweet-ass battlewounds to show for it. We ended up going 2-1 and we came in 3rd in the tournament. Not too bad, but last year we won so it was still kind of like a slap in the face.
The Southside Irish parade was fuckin SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!! I was standing on the side screaming my lungs off and a guy in the parade gave me this huge Irish Flag so I tied it around my neck and wore it like a cape all day. The parade was so long and it was really awesome. I felt Irish haha. After the parade I got my picture with a cop and we started singing rugby songs on the corner. A couple photographers and news reporters came over and taped us singing and took pics. Then we proceeded to crash every single party we could find. We got in some shit at a NIU party but we are sweet-talkers so we talked our way out of some fist-fights. I don't know if any parade can top that one
I'm not really a huge drinker so I didn't enjoy the rest of the weekend. It was a huge shit show and I didn't want any part in that. Don't get me wrong, I'll drink on occassion but I don't like to be drunk 24/7. Most of the time I was babysitting some of the vets and I was just not happy. Then my Chicago friends all stood me up so I was just really depressed and sad. I ended up crying most of Sunday night.
there are pics from the parade in my "Southside Irish" photo album. check that shit out
