I love love love LOVE food; I am constantly cooking, and constantly eating. I work in a Japanese kitchen and I get the pleasure of working with all kinds of exotic foods and wonderful flavor combinations. While I am not classically trained, I do have wonderful sous that show me everything. My favorite thing is how often our menu changes and our weekly specials. I never get bored of my job and I am constantly being exposed to new things. It's one of my passions, it's something I take and apply at home, it's is a fulfilling job. Nothing gives me more pleasure than cooking a good meal for friends and enjoying it along with quality conversation. I am often called the "Kitchen Mom" because of how often I cook for coworkers. I always try to provide a good family meal every day I work. Having exposure to new things always helps fuel my creativity and broadens my pallet. I constantly work with farm fresh and seasonal veggies. I really enjoy tasting new veggies and seeing cool variations, like romanesco broccoli. I love all the different ways to prepare eggplant. Working with new proteins is also an amazing privilege ! I love working with A5 wygu steak , all the different ways we cook pork, occasionally we get wild boar or rabbit; one time we got an entire piglet. I also get to try all the cool fish that comes in for sushi.

But of course, all of our chefs come from a cultural background, so we make the best Mexican food a Japanese restaurant could! Our KM Ale makes beastly beans and the best migas I have ever had, and I'll be damned if you don't think I make the best fried chicken. We get very hungry and very creative. I don't see how people can eat the same thing over and over. My fiance was a picky eater when we first met, but that quickly changed when I got this job 3 years ago. I would come home saying "BABE YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS NEW THING!" .

Having exposure to new foods is exciting, it's an adventure found in the kitchen. It keeps things interesting and helps you to slow down time and enjoy the moment. Not every one has time to go to a museum or take a trip to some place new, but every one has to eat, and that's an opportunity to experience a culture. Exploring taste, texture, pairing, freshness, and the variations of preparations really gives every day more depth and culture. I am so thankful that I get to indulge in this every day at work~Thank you @rambo & @missy
