The Dresden Dolls rocked me sideways!
But listen to this ridiculousness: They played before fucking Panic at the Disco. That band sucks ass. Just a boy band with some stupid gimmicks. I swear they blow goats, and even admit to molesting collies.
But the Dreseden Dolls! Oh the Dresden Dolls.
The original show was pretty good, but it was at the expo center, which is really really big. It was originally going to be at the Roseland, but they wanted to sell more tickets so they moved it. At the show Amanda Palmer announced that they would be playing at the Mission in NW later on. So SuntLacrimae and I sweated out most of panic's show because our friend really likes them. I felt bad being such a hater, but they fucking covered Karma Police and changed the lyrics to 'this is what you get when you FUCK WITH US". I must say 'OVER THE LINE!!!!!'. fuckers. They really overplayed the swear part of that. I could go on and on about all of the horrible things that band did, but I would rather move on to when my night got fantastic.
We get to the Mission and there are short films playing. so we get a drink and watch them, and I ask if anyone wants to go out to smoke with me. We go out, and Brian and Amanda are talking to a little circle of people, maybe 12, some who were too young to see this next show. So they did a little impromptu number, I don't remember the name of the song, but it is the one that goes "miss me miss me now youve gone and done it will you kiss me, kiss me, ........if you kiss her.....you can tell my father and my father.... I can't remember all the lyrics right now, but ya get the point.
so in we go after that happened.
My friends and i have perfect seats and were taking photos and it was great. They sang some of their songs, but also a lot of covers. For instance, The Wall, My Favorite Things, a song from Cabaret, and a Radiohead song that is not popping into my head right now. SOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
and now it is time for little elleseven to sleep.
