i totally nerded out and bought tons of comics yesterday and today. I even got a box at the store, excaliber, which is the best in portland. i hope to get a job there. they need a girl working there i think. anyways, among the comics i bought were:
*supergirl* (volume 5. i felt i had to get it due to my underwear collection that is inspired by her. its an ok comic, i like the unnies better. the art is just ok.)
*the goon* (volume 17, I love the goon. i wish he was my boyfriend. so sexy)
*little scrowlie* (volume 13, i met the artist at APE in San Francisco last april. sadly i did not make it this year.)
*girls* (volumes 7, 10, and 12. so good.)
*ultras* (its in graphic novel form, i haven't read it yet but it is by the same dudes that do girls. mmmmm.)
*y the last man* (volumes 42, 44, and 45... plus one more i can't think of. i don't remember if it is up to 46 yet, but if it is i have it. i got it yesterday and it is downstairs where my boy is sleeping.)
*neverwhere* (a comic based on neil gaiman's novel. fanfuckingtastic. i love neil gaiman! soooo much. he goes into excaliber when he is in portland, which makes me happy.)
*fables* (whatever the new issue is, it is also downstairs, and i totally caught monovox reading it.
it is listed as my current crush, or something like that.)
and i can't remember what else. but the coolest thing about excaliber is that you get a discount when you get a box there. if y'all don't know what i am talking about when i say a box, it goes like this: when you ask for one at all the comic stores that i have been to, it is free. you write a list of all the comics you want to buy, and they set them aside for you on wednesdays, which is new comic book day. then, depending on how many you subscribe for, you get a discount. At least at excalliber. it is fantastic.!!!!
y'all can fuck off if you think i am a nerd. i am proud of loving comics, and am currently sporting tattoos that advertise for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!!!!!

its today, may 6th. go to any comic book shop and they will totally hook you up with the designated free comic books. you should also buy at least one comic, to be polite and support the stores that sell these lovely items. i recommend any of the above.

The races in Portland and Tacoma aren't until October! They're cyclo-cross races. The only big road race out there is the Cascade Classic, and my team doesn't go.
