Yesterday we went to Eugene, actually Pleasant Hill to pick up a 401 CID big block Mopar engine from our engine builder. It will then have to be crated up and sent off to a customer in Australia.

Today's one of those days where you don't know which direction it will take. On the one hand I might be taking the greyhound on a walk...

sounds like you've been having a pretty good week... glad to here it.

my stresses are the same, but i'm used to them, kind of.

my valiant is no more...well it still exists (i hope) i just don't own it anymore. i had to sell it because, for about 4 months, i had no place to park it and no money to rent a place to park it.... frown . maybe someday i will get to see her again. it was my first car and my favorite, ahhh good times....

Pretty quite around here. Still trying to shake this cold that's been hanging on for a week. My second one in a month. It's never happened to me before quite as often as this.

Otherwise just trying to stay out of trouble. Need to pick up slide film that Id dropped off at Citizens yesterday and mount the film strip before monday night's final photography...

Another nice day today. Not too exciting here. My schedule for today is mowing the lawn and some other yard work. Wish there was a way to extend procrastination a bit longer. frown

Saw the movie "... Huckabees" on DVD and it didn't work for me. I'm sure my mind processes information much slower than some because when everyone's talking at once, all I hear is a bunch of buzzing and couldn't hear everything that was said, a very important point for this movie, I'm sure. That was with the subtitles on and that did not help things...

So I took my mother-in-law grocery shopping this morning and the second to the last stop was at the Elephant Deli off West Burnside on NW 22nd Ave. All I can say is WOW! I've never experienced a Deli quite like it. The choices were simply too much. Had this uncontrolable urge for some of their Teriaki Salmon, but at $18.50 per pound the urge...

So I've become an instant fan of Mariska Hargitay of "Law and Order" SUV, or is it SVU, especially after seeing her last night on Leno. She showed a side of her that was very pleasant, warm, personable, candid, spontaneous and she gives "good interview". In my opinion, she may even surpass Cate Blanchett or even Megan McCormick of Globetrekker. On L&O SVU, she's always...

So I finally finished the entire first season of HBO's "Deadwood". Wow! It really depicted Deadwood as being a raw, crude, wild muddy mess of hell back then. Sort of the way it was when I hung out there in my younger days. It was sort of a college kid hangout during the annual "Days of '76" that took place the first part of August....

The motorized drum carder is finished and it works great...

Spent this morning with a friend in SE Portland who wanted me to see her new Imac, the computer in a monitor. What a machine. What resolution... what sharpness... a really great piece of engineering... and all in the confines of a flat panel display. So she gave me a demonstration of it. I am...

I'm sure you'll have fun with SGMC. I certainly look forward to hearing your perspective. I've only been riding since the 1980's, and that makes me one of the "elders" of the group, so I know we need some REAL depth of perspective.

I wish you & your wife the best. Knowing nothing about your situation, I offer the following: Hopefully she will understand that if you come home invigorated, you'll bring MORE energy home, rather than being less energetic at home because your energy was spent on the bike. Perhaps her disabilities would allow her to join you, even if only briefly, via a sidecar (some are made that a wheelchair rolls into). Then she could add the thrill of riding to her list of reasons to wake up and face each day with a smile. My apologies if I trespass, as I know nothing of your situation.

Again, welcome!

Progress Report on motorizing Drum Carder- (I know this is long but it took me all day to do it... and maybe I'm just a little bit proud that it's finished... almost):

I went to Grainger's in Tigard Wednesday morning and bought two pulleys, one 8" and one 7". They only had one 8" pulley or I would have bought two, so instead had to...

Still trying to shake this sore throat. Seems to shift from one side one day to the other side the next day. Yesterday it was the left side, today it's the right side. Seems like I'm never getting over it. Now viewing DVD # 3 and 4 of "Deadwood", the HBO series first season. That would be episodes 5 through 8. It's a bit "ho...
