So I finally finished the entire first season of HBO's "Deadwood". Wow! It really depicted Deadwood as being a raw, crude, wild muddy mess of hell back then. Sort of the way it was when I hung out there in my younger days. It was sort of a college kid hangout during the annual "Days of '76" that took place the first part of August. Mostly was just a big drunken blast. Not sure if that's still going on or not.
Out of all the discs of that set, all I would care to have is the last one, disc # 6. It has a lot of history and a lot of old pics of Deadwood the way it was back in the 1800's. Some rare footage. The rest of the episodes, they can have. Not going to spend $70 for the whole set just to get the last disc. Maybe I should copy it to my computer.... hmmm... but that would be illegal, wouldn't it...
Also finished seeing Motorcycle Diaries. Sometimes you feel like you want to enjoy a movie so much and so your expectations get very high, especially after reading the book, but then when you see the movie, you are somewhat let down because in 2 hours it can never cover all the detail the book does or do it as well. That's kind of what I felt about seeing this movie. Maybe if I wouldn't have read the book I may have enjoyed it more. The scenery was great and actually seeing them ride the Norton was a sight. So what is the best way, see the movie first or read the book first. I always felt it was the latter that was better. Not sure on this one...
