Fulfillment is an interesting concept. Is it even possible? It seems that which ever way I go, I fall further out of balance and more into regret. I hate having to compromise work and play. When I play to hard I regret the lack of responsibility displayed and berate myself and the reverse yields feelings of wasting my youth. The end is the same and the emptiness lingers. It begs the question, would I find the same fulfillment in dropping out of school and becoming say a tattoo artist as I would staying in school and becoming an architect. Its fucked up because I wont know until I get there, and then what?

what makes me want to quit more than anything are the professors. This is one of the most respected universities in the country; Wash u is top ten now or some shit. Even here, once you establish yourself as a designer, youre no longer limited to the parameters of the assignments and anything you do is bold and innovative when really its just shit because you got hammered over the weekend and couldnt come up with anything good. i don't think they could tell good design that much better than the students.

what really makes me want to stay is the archies for life clique that lives down there. Its a quite satisfaction one upping them despite a poor attendance and a worse work ethic. It might just be my animosity and jealousy of wealthy people coming to the surface, but regardless they suck at life. Theyve read all the books and perfected the architecture vernacular. Pompous assholes are too ignorant to see the meaning and inherent beauty in design. Reproduction leads to understanding, but designing is a manifestation from within onto the physical realm. Which is the other reason I stay. Theres a certain magic that happens in the synthesis and evolution from idea to sketch to model, every line comes together to form an interdependent web of motion and rhythm and structure. Creating is fulfillment. But does it matter creating spaces or tats?

Speaking of which I have to get to work. Two more weeks to summer
