So I finally went to the doctor.
The tip of my 4th toe is fractured.
It's not good, but it's better than the last journal update at least.
I'm going to call the Red Cross in a little while, and see how I can volunteer. Answer phones, fundraising, something, so that I don't feel so useless and helpless.

Awww, you've got a good heart and a bad toe. I suppose that is better than the other way around. Did they just tape your toe to its neighbor? I broke all 10 of my toes over the duration of my gymnastics career. It sucks huh? Totally managable but highly irritating.

The NOLA thing scares me too. I have some very good friends I just visited out there over new years. VERY sad. We haven't heard from them yet and are pretty damn worried.

As far as the toe thing, it will sweell and turn purple if it's broken...sometimes they will do that with a sprain, but its usually a break if there's some nasty purple bruises all around it. Not a whole lot you can do anyway...get some painkillers and stay off it....thats what a doctor will usually say. Maybe an x-ray won't hurt.
