Week in recap. This is one of the more image heavy posts that I've made in a bit. Hence the spoilers.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Stiles was in town, and we always seem to have some fun times together. Maybe it's our combined Gemini birthday powers that lead to things like this:

We roamed around North Bend, WA , home to the Double R Diner, to these godawful factory stores after we went to visit Snoqualmie Falls (Twin Peaks title sequence)

Wow, I just now realized that some of the new SG's and fans of the site were BORN WHEN THIS SHOW WAS ON TV.surreal

Anyway, at least the cherry pie is something to write home about. The rest, overpriced greasy spoon. puke

Speaking of food, I've been making serious plans to revamp my diet. No, not like diet for weight loss, maybe I should rephrase. My eating lifestyle. I've been reading a lot again, and between the two books lately, Skinny Bitch and The Omnivore's Dilemma, have been rethinking my habits.

I also have a superficial motivation in that my skin has been freaking out and it's been harder than ever to keep excess weight off. This isn't an LA vanity thing anymore, as I've just been feeling tired all the time, sluggish, and my skin won't stop breaking out. I have access to the 'finest' treatments and ingredients to take care of it, and they're not working for me. frown

I'm hoping that the ethical changes that will be implemented can help all the way around. And I don't want to think of my food being part of the industrial processed complex. I'm going to try my best to stop consuming meat, Splenda, and caffeine. Perhaps the worst drugs to kick of all. eeek

Remember that Lingerie of the Month Club that I'd mentioned? Well, I got this outfit in its entirety, courtesy of a well-placed bid on eBay. I never pay retail for anything 99% of the time.

I will take more official type photos soon. There will also be some surprises in the mail very soon. biggrin

So I went to the optometrist for an eye exam last week (hallelujah for insurance), and found that these Dolce and Gabbana's were to my liking. What do you think?

I went back to the optometrist's office yesterday to pick up my contacts, and what do I see when I walk back?

Upon calling the office to hear the voicemail, it is supposed to be pronounced, Mc-Uh-Nall-E. Suuuuuuuuuuure.

OH YEEEEEAH. I forgot to mention that my hair went from this....

to some highlights that I didn't bother photographing because they were a tad puke to....
OMG111)#(*#% I HAVE BLUE HAIR IN MY MID-30's. Midlife crisis!

A lot of the time I don't wear makeup on my days off, since I have SO MUCH ON at work. That said, I'm really loving Urban Decay's new line of lipsticks and lip pencils. Their products in general are tops. I'm also enjoying some of Smashbox's newest products. The beauty and hair, I get it all deeply discounted. biggrin

Poor burtlo. How does he put up me with all of my beauty products, shoes and accoutrements? We have to move soon, too, so I'm sure that it will be interesting, between my continuous eBay auctions and acquisition of new products. And why are Seattle rents so comparable to those in Los Angeles? It's absolutely mind-boggling!

I've had a chance here and there to work on my website. At least revamping it, along with my diet, so that I can fuse a bunch of things that I've been meaning to, the past, present, and the future.

Here's a random link that I am enjoying. Hat tip to unravled for showing me the light. wink

Some questions for you guys, several, so that you can pick and choose what you wish to answer. Answer one, answer none, answer all, whatever.

1. For those vegetarians/vegans out there, recommendations on your favorite reading materials, websites?
2. For those that are into makeup and whatnot, what are some of your favorite products right now?
3. For those of you that are into lingerie, what do you find to be the sexiest, most titillating ever?

The Angelica's Kitchen Cookbook has a great selection of recipes, many of them without any soy products at all. Although I'm starting to believe that Real Food Daily could go toe-to-toe in that department.

For lingering. Although a recent purchase at Kiki turned out to be extremely well functioning as well as a nice on the eyes.

Oh man I was definitely eyeing the Jasmine line of products, but I decided that the shampoo/conditioner for chemically treated hair and hairspray would have to suffice. Maybe next time.

Oh I second the recommendation for Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. I really, really loved that book.
