Meet A. Or J., as is on his birth certificate. He is someone very dear to me. Very very dear to me. In an alternate reality, we would have been married, but alas, it was not meant to be.
We spoke on the phone for over 2 hours last night. You wouldn't even believe the things that we'd done to each other, much less forgiven each other for, in the end.
I've been in a dark place for a little while now, and by the end of the conversation, we were laughing together.
Just before we were to say goodbye, he said he loved me, and I told him that I loved him too, without skipping a beat. And I meant it. No no, not in THAT way anymore, but I know that we will be in each others' lives forever.
So right now, I am thankful for his friendship.

My friend Kevin, despite the hand he was dealt in life, he is probably the most generous, most positive person i've known in this lifetime.
